A personal note: I have installed a Hogue grip on an S&W Shield  and other designs following the manufacturer instructions. It took me longer then expected and I struggled much more then anticipated. BUT… it fits like a glove. The standard grip on a Shield is more handle then grip, the Beavertail is a major improvement and a necessity!
