Shipping Policy
Important Shipping Notice
Sellers on WeaponDepot set their own shipping policies. The information below covers federal requirements that apply to all shipments of firearms and ammunition.
Seller Shipping Policies
Each seller on WeaponDepot.com sets their own shipping rates, methods, and handling times. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are displayed on each listing. Please review the seller's shipping policy before making a purchase.
Firearms Shipping Requirements
All firearms must be shipped FFL-to-FFL (Federal Firearms Licensee to Federal Firearms Licensee). Firearms cannot be shipped directly to an individual buyer.
Handguns
Under federal law, handguns must be shipped via a common carrier (such as UPS or FedEx). Handguns cannot be shipped via the United States Postal Service (USPS).
Rifles & Shotguns
Rifles and shotguns may be mailed via USPS when shipped within the same state. For interstate shipments, rifles and shotguns may also be shipped via common carriers.
Ammunition Shipping
Ammunition can be shipped to most locations, but age verification is required upon delivery. Buyers must be at least 18 years old for rifle and shotgun ammunition, and at least 21 years old for handgun ammunition. Some states have additional restrictions on ammunition purchases and shipments.
FFL Transfer Process
When purchasing a firearm on WeaponDepot, you will be asked to select an FFL dealer to receive the shipment. The seller ships the firearm to your selected FFL, where you will complete the required background check (NICS) and any applicable state paperwork before taking possession of the firearm.
Insurance & Tracking
We strongly recommend that sellers insure all firearm shipments and provide tracking information to buyers. Most carriers require that firearms shipments be declared and shipped with appropriate insurance coverage.
