Setting Up Checkout

The WeaponDepot Checkout system streamlines the post-sale process by automating payment collection, FFL verification, and shipping coordination. To set up Checkout, navigate to your seller dashboard and select Checkout Settings. Here you will configure your accepted payment methods, shipping options, sales tax settings, and post-sale communication preferences. Enabling Checkout is strongly recommended because it provides a seamless buying experience, reduces the time between sale and shipment, and minimizes disputes by clearly communicating expectations to both parties throughout the transaction.

Payment Configuration

In Checkout Settings, you can configure which payment methods you accept. Options include credit and debit cards processed through your connected payment gateway, bank transfers, and escrow services. If you are a registered business, you will need to connect a payment gateway to accept credit cards directly. Individual sellers can use the platform's built-in payment processing or direct buyers to use escrow services for added protection. You can also set up automatic payment reminders that are sent to buyers who have not completed payment within a specified timeframe, helping reduce non-paying bidder issues.

Tax and Communication Settings

Configure your sales tax settings based on your business location and nexus requirements. WeaponDepot integrates with tax automation services that calculate the correct tax rate based on the buyer's shipping address and the applicable state and local tax rules. You can also set up automated post-sale emails that provide buyers with order confirmation, payment receipt, shipping notification with tracking, and delivery confirmation. Customize these templates with your business branding and any specific instructions for your buyers, such as FFL transfer procedures or inspection guidelines.
